West Monroe, Louisianna

Ever since Duck Dynasty became so popular, we've been toying
with the idea of heading down I20 to see if we could find these guys.
So in February we took off for the El Dorado Hotel and Casino in Shreveport.
The Gaming business must slow down after the holidays, because room rates
are always low in February. Anyhow, you can't take pictures in the casino,
so the first part of the trip will have to "stay in Shreveport."

After a good night at the El Do, we headed east on I20 to West Monroe.
Now, traveling with Linda is always an amazing adventure. She brings us the best luck,
just stumbling into all kinds of once-in-a-lifetime situations. Like when we just randomly
picked one of the five exits for W Monroe, and drove down Thomas Rd to where I spotted
this closed up car wash where the sign was now changed to the Duck Commander logo.
It was just like we knew where we were going! So we pulled in.
It just so happened that the show was filming that day, and we arrived just when
John Luke (Willie's Son) got there.  So we followed him into the
Duck Commander warehouse. It was funny how they actually used the cast and crew's cars
(and trucks) to block off the parking lot, where they planned to film a scene.
They taped black plastic between the cabs so no onlookers could see very much.
But the warehouse was still open to visitors, so naturally we go in.
I can see why Phil likes this chair so much.
 Miss Linda with Miss Kay.
After that, we were ready for lunch. So we used our Tom tom to track down this burger joint
that the brothers went to in one episode. But we didn't feel so much like burgers, so we tried another cafe instead.  And wouldn't you know?  After we ordered, we realize it was the same place that
Miss Kay took over for one night, when she thought she wanted to run a restaurant!
After that it was back to the El Do, and the next day, we headed home.
